The Tech Bubble #11: getting social is key

Tapping into the social media world is a strategy not many think about.

The Tech Bubble #11: getting social is key

🧠 Startup Wisdom

One area that not many realize how lucrative it is, is the social media tools that aid companies in creators in managing and growing their accounts. Here, I talk about tools that:

  • automate and simplify certain actions such as scheduling, commenting, engaging
  • provide analytics for performance, so that clients can optimize their reach and strategy, and see more clearly what works and what doesn’t.
  • monitoring the landscape and bringing them opportunities for high quality engagement which helps them build their brands up.

🏆 Indie Highlights

  • TweetHunter.io: many-in-one tool for Twitter/X that automates, gives inspiration, and just puts on your platter the things that work for Twitter growth.
  • OneUpApp.io: pure automation for a lot of social media channels
  • Publer.io: automation for social media, nothing too fancy. They have a social link feature (they call it One-Link) that builds you a mini-site where you can present in a centralized way all your social presence, together with some examples of your online content.

✈️ My Journey

  • Quest of the Hero: the work is progressing nicely. I will create the store page in a few days, and then I’ll set up the accounts for social media so I start promoting my demo through short form video content. I will start tracking wishlists and post constant updates, while I take care of the polish, bug fixing and balancing of the demo. The current itch.io page views count sits at 551 (total) and 130 browser plays (with no downloads).

  • Photozilla.io: I did some hosting changes, as the previous method was resulting in basically the whole service going down after a day or so, and starting to timeout all requests after that (no idea why). I did some tweaks regarding the server parameters and now it works fine. Ahrefs started tracking it again, and I am speccing out a plan regarding the next steps which will include:

    • more emphasis on self-generating content (need to do some cost projections) so the will be more tiers, each tier also having a credit limit for generations and 4K upscalings.

    • saving the self-created content in the user’s account in a partial state, lower res, and then enqueue it for the full processing. After that, these resources will become publicly available for other people to download too. Maybe the higher tiers will include an opt-out from making your generated resources public.
